The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss follows a boy's journey from a performer, to street urchin, to magic university.
What I liked ✅ an epic fantasy told well ✅ "sympathy" (the magic system) is original and unique ✅ the slow-burning plot was kept along well with plenty of mystery
✅ well-written prose ✅ DRAGONS
What I didn't like ✖ Kvothe is good at literally everything he tries, while at the same time, makes frustrating and tedious decisions which seem to only be there to add conflict to the plot ✖ Denna's entire role was to be mysterious and beautiful, lead Kvothe on, while having another guy on her arm
Rating 4.5/5 🌟 Genre: fantasy Verdict: RECOMMENDED ✅ QOTD: would you rather the power to control the wind or water?
