Review | Morning Star | Pierce Brown

Genre

Sci-fi

Morning Star by Pierce Brown is a brutal, emotional end to the Red Rising trilogy.

What I like ✅ Pierce Brown is a master of suspense, fast-paced action and an unrelenting plot

✅ some wonderfully heart-wrenching moments as beloved characters meet their end

✅ Sevro. That crazy Goblin.

✅ Great world-building with the Ash Lord and Obsidian worlds

What I didn't like ✖ Darrow's inner melodramatic monologuing

✖ Mustang is so perfect she's boring

✖ probably the cheesiest epilogue since The Deathly Hallows

✖ important information is withheld from the reader to force a twist ending

✖ shocking reveal after shocking reveal forces the reader to have to suspend belief that so many shocking things could happen to one person Rating 3.5/5 🌟 Verdict

RECOMMENDED What colour would you be the Red Rising society? I'd probably end up a Silver, which isn't so bad!
